Vote for a
Democrat?
I’ve been grateful for the encouragement I’ve received while running for Sequatchie County Commissioner. At the same time, a few folks have told me they could never vote for a Democrat, no matter what.
I understand that national politics can leave a bad taste in peoples' mouths. But county government isn’t Washington, D.C. At the local level, we’re focused on practical issues that affect our daily lives—keeping roads maintained, supporting our schools, making sure tax dollars are spent wisely, and helping our county move forward.
When it comes to county decisions, party labels don’t fill potholes, balance budgets, or solve local problems. Common sense does.
Whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or just don’t care about politics, I want to hear from you. If you have a concern, an idea, or a problem that needs attention, my door is open. My job is to represent everyone in this county, not just the people who agree with me.
At the end of the day, we’re neighbors first. And I believe we can get a lot more done by working together than by arguing about party labels.
